

The area you are talking about also has dig sites where you bring your own gear (or rent) and dig and pan yourself. I usually go to them or buy ore from them. Most of these shops mix ore from 5 or 6 dig sites and are part of a mining cooperative in the western part of the state. There are a number of shops that dont seed at all. Some shops have buckets for kids with tumbled stones inside but I see that less frequently, they want you to get the stones cut/polished for more $. Your run-of-the-mill gem shop will have often have seeded buckets for kids or mixed buckets with seeded and unseeded ore.
